Round Base For A MamaLuv Swivel Glider

Making a round base for a MamaLuv swivel glider.

I make these bases from solid plywood, cut with a diameter of 25 inches. Most chairs of this type have rounded bases that are 24 inches in diameter. But I've seen too many videos of similar chairs where the customers sit in them, lean back and the front of the base actually lifts off the floor! So for safety and stability I make my bases larger.

Plus,  the solid plywood base along with the heavy metal gliding mechanism,  gives the chair a nice anchored base for the chair to glide and swivel.   The swivel action is 360 degrees.  I've seen a lot of swivel gliders that only rotate 270 degrees,  so not all the way around.  Why?  Why don't they swivel all the way around?

These swivel gliders have a very comfy seating experience.  I put jute webbing in the seats and use very thick seat foam.  The back of the MamaLuv is a thick, pouffy cushion that's quite high too, has that sink-in comfort and is tall enough for people in the six foot range to be really comfy.
