How It's Made - Installing Jute Webbing

Posted by Frank Bray on

Here is how I install natural jute webbing in my seat frames.  I stretch the webbing with a special tool that I made years ago.  The webbing gets installed in a checkerboard fashion and is stapled to the frame securing it tightly.

Natural jute webbing is just as good as steel frames,  giving great support plus a bit of spring to the seat.  With foam and fabric installed on top,  it provides a very comfy seating experience.

These seat frames are screwed and glued together for long-term durability and squeak-free service.  Most furniture today, even the high-end expensive stuff, is simply power stapled together, but that's not a great way to make furniture to last!  I am proud to offer chairs that will give years of faithful service.
