I love the rocker from Off Your Rocker. It's so pretty to look at and the workmanship is really first-rate. As a heavy person, I had Frank custom make my chair and he did a great job and put a lot of thought into giving me the best support. The only problem with the chair was due to my own inexperience with rocking chairs. All my chairs have a 20" width in the seat which is perfectly comfortable, so I had Frank designed it precisely to these measurements, and I also asked for a little longer than most chairs are in the seat as I have long legs and need support for the back of one of my knees. Frank gave me a chair with the exact width and length that I asked for. However, what I didn't take into consideration is that with fabric chairs there is a fair amount of cushion and give to the arms where with rockers the wooden arms are hard and therefore restrictive. I found that I couldn't just slid into the chair and had less wiggle room in settling my bottom into the back and this led to not feeling comfortable at first. But then I thought: if I just tip the chair forward a little so that my bottom can reach the back without having to wiggle into it, that might work and it worked perfectly. It is now a wonderfully comfortable chair and the back in particular gives amazing support especially around the lumbar region. For anyone who is on the heavy side and contemplating one of these chairs, I would suggest giving yourself a little more width than you think you need. If a 20" width chair is comfortable for you, take it to a 22" width in the rocker and then you will have a really wonderful chair. I highly recommend getting a rocking chair from Off Your Rocker made by Frank Bray.
